Concept

Ecological processes that sustain our cities (or our existence) are often hidden from our daily life. This project intends to promote an interconnected environment with humans and the ecology. Showcasing an environment that evidently portrays a cycle of species depending on each other may remind people of the importance of the ecology, and thus encourage human interaction and include themselves in this cycle -where they may create resting spots for bees, care for the the plants, and create an environment that is suitable for other species.

Furthermore, the site is intended to act as a space to gain peace, representing the heavens. The visitors will enter the
site from the North, South, East, or West entrance, and as they
walk along the site to the oval will encounter a colourful garden intended for sightseeing, seating, or as a place to go with family/friends for gatherings. Colletidae (Masked Bees) are intended to use this site for pollen collection, breeding, and for supporting their ecosystem. Bee hives on the site are intended to shelter them and to promote habitat-building, and the Charbagh garden is an ecological system designed to attract and sustain the bees.

Nestled in the heart of Parkville, Victoria, the Galada Reserve stands as a serene haven amidst urban hustle. Within its boundaries lie diverse ecosystems, from lush woodlands to meandering creeks and open grassy expanses. Winding trails beckon visitors, offering leisurely strolls or invigorating hikes. Birdsong fills the air, a testament to the reserve's rich avian population, while native flora and fauna add to its allure. Despite its natural splendour, the Galada Reserve faces challenges; insufficient support for its ecosystems leaves them vulnerable.

The lack of diverse native plants, fauna and foliage leaves ecosystems and habitats vulnerable. The design of a large landscape system can help support native wildlife whilst also being accommodating for people, without disrupting nature. Aiding in habitat restoration is also a key theme in supporting ecosystems.
